Physics

Physics

Friday: 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM
1/13/2017-5/26/2017
Tuition: $810 for 9 sessions Total 18 sessions
Instructor: Ted C.

With understanding Space in mind, we will study the physics of motion, called Mechanics. It is the most fundamental part of physics. To study physics we will hone our mathematical abilities in algebra, geometry and trigonometry; mathematics is, after all, the "language of physics". To enjoy this class, students should have taken already Algebra II/Trigonometry and Geometry.  We will do it in 8 sessions of two hours each. Enthusiasm, curiosity and a desire to learn will allow us to over-perform.

The class will consist of lectures, where student participation and interaction is always encouraged, and occasional homework. Students are urged to bring a notebook to class, and take notes.  Teacher may make content adjustments based on student response to the class.

AP Physics I

Sat: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
1/21/2017 - 5/27/2017
Tuition: $800 for 8 sessions Total 16 sessions

Instructor: Ted C.

Gallant Academy’s AP Physics 1 is designed to help students for the AP Physics 1 exam, which covers the equivalent to a one-year non-calculus based physics curriculums. AP Physics 1 primarily covers Classical Mechanics: Kinematics, Dynamics, Newton’s laws, Circular motion and universal law of gravitation, Simple harmonic motion, Impulse, linear momentum, and conservation of linear momentum collisions, Work, energy, and conservation of energy, Rotational motion, Electrostatics, DC circuits and Mechanical waves and sound.

This program will explain and teach physics at a thorough level to ensure students to have a very good understanding of the physical laws, prepare students to excel in their high school class and build a solid foundation for students to further their studies in calculus based AP Physics courses and compete in United States National Physics Olympiad.

Ted, (CalTech Physics PHD) has more than 25 years of aerospace experience and many years of teaching math and physics at high-school and college will be teaching this important class.  He also has rich experiences for instructing and leading high school students for science projects and winning science competitions.
